Speaker: J. Hartstein

With a background in Mathematics and Science Studies, I am currently working as a researcher in the project "Evaluation Practices in Science and Higher Education" at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW), Berlin. I am interested in how the implementation of algorithmic techniques in (e)valuation forms and performs society. As a politically interested person, I am convinced, that understanding algorithmic evaluation as an expression of an underlying power structure may provide creative leeway and room for societal intervention.
