Steven J. Murdoch
Steven J. Murdoch is a researcher in the Security Group of the Cambridge University Computer Laboratory, working with the OpenNet Initiative, studying Internet Censorship.
Steven J. Murdoch has been a researcher in the Security Group of the Cambridge University Computer Laboratory for 4 years and is nearing the end of his studies towards a PhD. His research interests include covert channels and their analysis, the secure storage access to jointly-administered structured data, information security, anonymity and software engineering. Previous projects he has worked on include reverse engineering the Luna CA3 cryptographic co-processor, investigation of covert channels as a collusion mechanism in games and using covert channel analysis techniques to find weaknesses in the Tor anonymity system. Currently he is working with the OpenNet Initiative, a joint project between the the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford, Toronto and Harvard, studying Internet censorship and surveillance world-wide.
