Version 2.01 no time to cry
Speaker: Jason
*Jason* has been involved in anti-authoritarian social movements since the late-1980s, and recently discovered that a supposed close friend was actually an undercover police officer who targeted him across European borders for a period of five years. He is making a film, Spied Upon, about activists opposing state repression.
In my presentation I will present a strategic analysis of state spying from the times of the Russian Czar, the East German Stasi, the British Metropolitan Police's scandalised SDS, and the FBIs Cointelpro. This will provide a context for understanding the more personal recent experiences of myself and other social movement activists targeted by state and private undercover operatives.
