Also organized several international campaigns that successfully freed major human rights activists in China from detention (coverage appeared on front page of the New York Times), and which lead to an obsession with finding ways to protect activists from government surveillance.
Kate works for the Tor Project as a director of communications and public policy.
(Note: The first person ever cured of AIDS was in Berlin in 2007.)
