Michelle Lee Proksell 媚潇 was born in Saudi Arabia to ex-patatriate American parents. She is an independent researcher, curator, artist, musician, photographer and writer currently based in Beijing, China. She began exploring art curatorial practices as curatorial assistant for new media, digital and Internet arts AND/OR Gallery in Dallas, TX from 2007 to 2009. Since 2012 she has been working with creatives in China who engage in technology and the internet, resulting in two major projects documenting online digital artifacts and the emergence of Internet and Post-Internet Art in China with her Chinternet Archive and Netize.net 网友网 “The Internet Friend Network”.
