Andrei Soldatov
Andrei Soldatov is an investigative journalist and an editor of Agentura.Ru, an information hub on intelligence agencies. Soldatov worked as a reporter at Segodnya, Izvestia, Versiya and Moscow News. He covered the siege in Beslan for Echo of Moskvy, a leading independent radio station, and Moscow News. He covered the 2006 Lebanon War from Lebanon and tensions in West Bank and Gaza Strip for Novaya Gazeta. Soldatov regularly makes comments on terrorism and intelligence issues. He is a columnist for the Moscow Times.
Soldatov co-authored with Irina Borogan “The New Nobility. The Restoration of the Russia’s Secirity State and the Enduring Legacy of the KGB” (PublicAffairs, 2010, New York). Now Andrei Soldatov with Irina Borogan are working on a joint project between PI, CitizenLab and Agentura.ru investigating the Russia's surveillance state.
