Enemies of the State: What Happens When Telling the Truth about Secret US Government Power Becomes a Crime |
William Binney
William Binney is a retired former senior technical leader with the National Security Agency. He was the technical director of the NSA’s World Geopolitical and Military Analysis Reporting Group.
As a crypto-mathematician with the NSA SIGINT Automation Research Center he also developed the key algorithms for a revolutionary intelligence program called ThinThread that also protected the 4th Amendment rights of Americans, but rejected by NSA. He blew the whistle on multi-billion waste, fraud and abuse with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General and was subsequently targeted and investigated over several years by the Department of Justice as part of a multi-million dollar, multi-year 'leak' investigation. Since the Spring of 2011, he has publicly warned that the NSA’s secret data-mining and dragnet surveillance program has become so vast that it could “create an Orwellian state.”
