23 ways to fight for your rights
Human rights and civil liberties are under attack. Looking at the vast number of plans and legislatory projects, many have the feeling that political engagement is not worth the effort anymore.
At the same time, it was never as easy as today: We have the net and can use it - for publicity, analysis, protest, and organizing. But not everything in politics happens on the net, and only few feel the desire to join political organizations and parties on a long-term basis. But there is still a lot that can be done.
This presentation and the following workshop will discuss 23 concrete ways of using your own abilities to fight for your rights. Drawing on examples from international politics, national protest and local community-organizing, we will try to map the landscape of net-based and net-enhanced political struggles and see what works. Not everything is what everybody would like to do, but for everybody, there is something to do.
