Christoph Zimmermann
I am a 24 years old electronic engineer working on a open hardware FPGA based application board.
I am interested in electronics since I was a child, I can use a solder iron since i am 10 years old :-)
I have some experience in the domains digital control systems, FPGA design, microcontroler software, electro magnetic compliance and streaming media. In my freetime I administrate a small internetradio station (bigbeat.ch). So I have experience in icecast & shoutcast streaming systems since 2003.
From 1999 to 2003 I made an apprenticeship in electronics at Landert Motoren AG. My final work was a fault tolerant control system for automatic doors used in escape ways.
Currently I am employed as assistant at the Berne School of Applied Science in the microlab as an hardware engineer finishing our work on the open hardware GECKO3 project.
I am also a founding member of the association of Swiss internet radio. The goal of this association is to represent all internet radio stations in Switzerland and to negotiate a new fairer contract with the copyright organisations.
